About Us

  • About

Our club is open to experienced Archers and beginners alike, although beginners will have to complete a course of tuition before being able to take part in our regular shooting days. We are a friendly club with a relaxed atmosphere and we always provide a welcoming atmosphere regardless of age or ability. Many of our club members are very experienced Archers and as such provide a wealth of knowledge on the subject to those new to the sport.

The regular shoots take place at Tretherras School in Newquay Cornwall (post code TR7 3BH). Indoor Shooting takes place in the School Junior Hall on Mondays and Wednesdays from late September until April. Outdoor Shooting is held on the playing field opposite the school, from may until late September.

Beginner Courses

To encourage people to take up the sport, we run several courses during the year which give beginners an opportunity to try the sport of archery. These courses provide 6 hours of tuition by qualified coaches and all necessary equipment is provided by the club. At the end of the course you are then eligible to join the club.
On joining you would be expected to purchase your own bow and arrows, however our club coaches will advise on appropriate equipment and it is possible to utilise the club equipment for a little longer while you are finding what works best for you. After joining the club coaches will still be on hand to offer help and guidance as you progress in the sport.

Where children under 14 are concerned we ask that they are accompanied by an adult at all times.

If you are interested in trying archery please contact the secretary to book onto the next available course.
